superhero au timeline bullshit???

probably will be junk anyway BUT HEY brainstorm

- traveler is taken from an orphanage or her parents or something, used in human experiments (either science corp or a cult or a government or combination of the above)
- traveler gets superpowers, uses for however they want them too
- she's getting older, unexpected complications, they need more kids
      - maybe traveler assists?
            - alternate route: maybe she befriends a 'new kid' who is cindy? hmm well anyway:
- Traveler gets upset at her captors - maybe less attention paid to her, maybe it sinks in how much she doesn't like it there and she realizes she has the power to leave, maybe something more trivial sets her off, but she busts out
- spends time chilling by the docks. IDK if she'd be aware enough to be a civilian, since she doesn't understand rent or money transactions, looks like a freak, and may or may not be able to speak coherently. More likely takes up residence in an abandoned building by docks or something. Or near a scrapyard, so she could assemble her suit and other things for living.
- gets lonely, because there's no other superpowered girl pals around, or other kids to play with. Then jealous because there are other families out there and then angry because why do they get to have kids she'd take way better care of kids than them that isn't fair she misses her family grrr
- her first kidnapping happens, except it goes flawed like because when she gets the kid back to base the kid is terrified and she can't make them less terrified and thinking on it her home isn't really that great? she spends more time trying to calm he kid than cover her tracks and authorities catch up? Or she drops the kid back off and regroups.
- months to a year later she tries again - her place at least has makeshift furniture and beds? kid also is scared silent instead of crying so she thinks things are going good. She also has chocolates and stuff! idk how long this kid gets kept for, but she makes it to two other kidnappings before someone tracks her down and gets the kids back.
- After a few months, she goes at it again, and the pattern continues, with her getting more kids and holding them for longer every time. Cooldown periods I don't think change? it depends on if she has to relocate/redecorate her lair.

- after some year or two of this horseshit, she hits the kid jackpot and manages to keep hold of them. Is she getting help? Did she just get that good? Who knows?
However when her lair was found, she was gone and so were the kids.
There haven't been any kidnappings since.

lot of stab reports, though.

OR if we need more recent kidnappings, then she's found a few but it's just not the same and reminds her too much of the other ones and just makes her sad so the kid gets released after awhile, and she focuses more on attacking anything that looks at a child the wrong way.

Questions for the population to wonder about: Why was she kidnapping kids? Was it similar to the disappearances of the newer wave of test subjects? Is she the cause or the symptom? I can't remember what that was supposed to mean but why did I write it anyway? Where is she now? How much does she completely ruin the comics code?

so anyway for mark and traveler in this event, maybe their respective investigations lead to them crossing paths by whatever organization is responsible for the kidnapping, Mark armed with knowledge and context, Traveler by memories jogged by beating the hell out of whoever was tangentially connected to this.

Though it seems funny that mark with all his reasoning skills and super-detectivery gets there close to the same time as Traveler? I mean Traveler is armed with memories and past dealings with them, she just had to track down wherever they moved their base, I suppose.

Anyway, once they realize they're on the same team (they're trying to break into the same place, traveler is taking out whatever security is there and set off by one of them, Traveler has a mark on her outfit matching the organization's logo that's never been visible because no one's gotten close, which shows she's connected with them but not for awhile due to its wear and tear, holy shit what a run-on-sentence), a comic book team up happens! If they have to fight a little first, then perfect, because that's how basically every comic book crossover and team-up starts. 'Let's you and him fight', etc. Man I heard how the first comic book crossover/teamup happened between the human torch and the sub-mariner went down like creation-process wise and it was nuts but also sounded pretty fun ngl

Anyway,
I guess their goal is to get to where the kids are - cue Mark trying to get Traveler to stick to comics codes rules, and also y'know pointing out where they need to go since traveler's plan is pretty much 'go here, wreck shit'.

And uh yeah. This could take place on the last day of the event since it's kind of a climax in their comic book stories?
